This instantly recognisable plant is commonly known as red hot poker. The flower is made up of clusters of tiny tubular orange and red blooms during summer. The linear grass-like foliage arches over at the base of the plant.

The vibrantly coloured flower spikes make ‘Nancy’s Red’ the perfect choice for a hot border. Kniphofia flourish in full sun and any moist but free draining reasonable soil. If necessary divide very old or very large clumps during the spring .
