Scrophularia auriculata ‘Variegata’ (v)
Height x Spread: 100cm x 60cm
Small reddish brown flowers are carried on square stems with broad oval leaves, boldly marked with wide, cream margins.
This striking perennial is an excellent candidate for shady woodland schemes, with its variegated leaves shining out of the gloom. Being partial to rich, moist soil, it also looks very effective grown close to streams or ponds. It can be grown in a container. To avoid it spreading, remove unwanted flower stems. It thrives in fertile, moisture retentive soil in dappled or partial shade, but can tolerate sun.
